I was able to get an appointment with my colorist and stylist 2 days ago. My head of hair suddenly had no direction at all. Add to the fact that my crazy hair needed some good loving in terms of a deep conditioning treatment. When I brought this up with Ling (she cuts my hair) 2 months ago, she straight out said (ei, she has an oriental accent, take note!), “Honey, there’s nothing with your hair. That’s just how your hair is.” I didn’t slap her because I rather like her attitude. Give it to me straight, don’t sugar coat it and we’ll get along — and I’ll keep you forever (well, show me your skills too, of course). I’d seen her at the salon before but I’d never gone to her until 2 months ago — I was desperate for a new ‘do and thankfully, the minute I called, someone had just cancelled and I was free to come in if I wanted the open slot). She works so fast and you give her ideas (pictures, I should say) of what parts of a style you like and boom, she comes up with a masterpiece. And did I tell you, she uses her cutting shears like she’s been doing it even before she got out of her mother’s womb? She cuts my colorist’s hair and Lan (that’s her name) has always had the funkiest ‘dos ever. A keeper, that Ling lady.
I tell you, being a SAHM, I have let go of myself in more ways than one. Times like this, I love trying to look like a human being again.
